What customers say?

“ Incredibly fresh and delicious food that is local to the area and exceptionally well priced, do not miss this restaurant! Not only was the food excellent but the atmosphere was lovely too, serene jazz music and such sweet attentive staff. I only meant to go in for a bite. I stayed for a huge meal and almost 2 hours just because I was enjoying myself so much All of this food (I think I might have done a set menu without realising it) plus a beer and an iced coffee and a Japanese dessert on the house for ¥2600 !! ???????? incredible and the place was spotlessly clean as well. ”

“ Such a warm, kind restaurant. The food is traditional and delicious, the service was so pleasant and the vibe of the place feels like sitting down for dinner at a friend’s house. I would recommend anyone coming to Nara to check it out! ”

“ We had a delicious lunch in Nara, which consisted of several courses of food with a drink included. A great price, and tasty food. The staff were also very kind and polite. It was perfect after a morning in the deer park! ”

“ Interesting location on second floor and unique deco. The lady boss was friendly. Menu in Japanese (use google translate). I ordered the somen noodles and rice ball set. The side soup was really nice, somen texture good but the rice ball lack flavour. Pricing reasonable. Can try if you’re around the area. ”

“ Located on the 2nd floor of a narrow building that can be access via a spiral staircase. A quaint cafe / restaurant that serves dishes using the local produce. I can feel the lovely lady owner/chef putting in so much love and care in her dishes even using the local Nara chopsticks. Must try the cold somen made locally in Nara. ”

“ Amazing experience here for dinner. 100% recommend. (Note: ¥1,000-2,000 most likely spend, but our spend was approx ¥4,000 with several courses and drinks). This was a lovely restaurant. Handwritten menu in Japanese and we visited as a tourist couple speaking no Japanese, so used Google translate a lot. We wanted to taste traditional/local food from Nara to get the local experience from a quick visit, but we didn't know what we were looking for and the store manager was very friendly. We asked for traditional/local Nara food and got recommendations from the store manager for us to choose between. As we were still unsure, we asked if he could choose for us a large meal for 2 and he kindly agreed. We got a range of food, all for a total of ¥8,000 between 2 of us, including 2 drinks each, 2 sharing starters and a sharing salad, 2 sharing mains, and a dessert each. Amazingly good value. The food all tasted great and was presented well, using locally sourced ingredients. We enjoyed Nara sake and gin, oden, somen and mochi, as well as locally produced pork and chicken. Service was amazing. Food arrived quickly and the store manager was very welcoming, helpful and friendly. Would definitely return when next in Nara! ”
